IP68: WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN'T DO

If a device is IP68 certified, it means it can be submerged in fresh water at depths of up to one metre for up to 30 minutes (check individual specifications), provided the terminal protections are kept properly sealed. We leave you some tips for any terminal with IP68 certification:

• Do not expose the IP68 terminal to water currents, such as tap water, ocean waves, or waterfalls.
• Additionally, if the IP68 device has been exposed to fresh water, dry it carefully with a clean, soft cloth.
• If the IP68 device has been exposed to any type of liquid other than fresh water (such as seawater), immediately rinse the device gently with fresh water and dry thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth.
• If you have any doubts about whether the guards are properly closed. NO you get it wet.
• Avoid aggressive testing to demonstrate your endurance.
• It is not advisable to manipulate the device's buttons while underwater.
• It is recommended NOT to soak the device in salt water, as the IP certification only applies to fresh water.
