IP68: WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN'T DO
If a device is IP68 certified, it means it can be submerged in fresh water at depths of up to one metre for a maximum of 30 minutes provided the terminal protections are kept properly sealed.
We leave you some tips for any terminal with IP68 certification:
- Do not expose your IP68 smartphone to water currents, such as tap water, ocean waves, or waterfalls.
- Also, if your IP68 smartphone has been exposed to fresh water, dry it carefully with a clean, soft cloth.
- If the IP68 smartphone has been exposed to any type of liquid other than fresh water (such as seawater), immediately rinse the device gently with fresh water and dry thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth.
- If you have any doubts about whether the guards are properly closed. NO you get it wet.
- Avoid aggressive testing to demonstrate your endurance
- It is not advisable to manipulate the device buttons in the water.
- It is recommended NOT to soak the device in salt water as the IP certification only applies to fresh water.
